The story of ESSQ started in June 1998 when Ola, the first ESSQ student, arrived in Plano, Texas, USA. He, like the other ESSQ people, attended an international internship programm of EDS, the world second largest IT service company.

Why do we call ourself ESSQ? Because EDS said in its visa request that we are European Specially Selected and Qualified students.

While being in Plano we had a lot of fun together, we got to know many good American friends, we visited cool places in Texas and elsewhere. We´ve been to Austin, a student city in Texas where some American EDS interns studied. We saw a rodeo in Fort Worth. We spent wild nights dancing in clubs in Dallas. And we went to New Orleans for the Southern Decadence weekend. To show our American friends how we Europeans have fun we organized the European Party at out apartments in Windhaven.

After having so much fun together in the US it was hard for us to leave each other and go home. We decided that we definetly had to meet again - and so we did! Five of the ESSQ people went to Ibiza in the summer of 1999 to spend one week of partying, drinking and dancing. And of course watching nice girls respectively boys on the beach.

And we are pretty sure that that was not our last meeting....
